Getting free and Staying Free
Getting Free – Many people are held under the bondage and impulses of sin and do not know they can be free. In John 8:36, Jesus makes a profound statement of truth and victory. He says, “Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed”. True freedom is found in Christ alone. This is not a freedom to do anything we want to do, rather, it is a freedom to have the sustaining power of the Holy Spirit enabling us to no longer be bound by vices and addictions of all types. Section One of this book provides the practical tools and spiritual truth necessary to get free.Staying Free – Once free, sustainability is vital. This truth is affirmed in Galatians 5:1 which reads, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made you free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage”. The goal is to no longer be recaptured by past vices. Sustained freedom over vices will be impossible at best, if you fail to assume your responsibility to maintain your freedom in Christ. Section Two of this book provides models and tools for ongoing spiritual growth and success in maintaining freedom.
